Cheat'N Low: The Beginning

My name is Catie, and I am a twenty-year old young woman with a cause.  I am blogging about the evil nature of artificial sweeteners and why they are harmful to the people that consume them.  I titled this blog "Cheat'N Low" after the familiar sugar substitute "Sweet'N Low".  This title emphasizes how fake sugars are being marketed to people as healthy substitutes for sugar when they are really harming our bodies in countless ways.  They do much more harm to the human body than good, therefore cheat us and trick us.  I strive to raise awareness about the hidden negative affects that artificial sugars have, and enlighten anyone who consumes too much of it.  I am passionate about living a healthy life, and this problem keeps many from doing just that.

My personal experiences with being legitimately addicted to these products at a younger age make me a compassionate, reliable and credible recourse.  I understand being dependant of Diet Coke, and loading my coffee up with little blue packets, and how horrible I felt before I cut it our of my life.  With this blog I hope to help people realize the damage diet sodas are doing to their bodies and hopefully inspire them to make a change.

2 - I love your topic, even though I am slightly scared to read some of the information you are going to be offering because I am a large consumer of diet sodas. Hopefully your information and story will inspire me to take action and work toward a healthier life! This is something that people may not want to acknowledge and I love the fact that you are going to make them listen! (Comment this)

4 - Good job so far. I gave up all soda and fast-food long ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I would like to hear more about your personal experience as it would be an interesting read. Keep on keepin' on, catie! (Comment this)

5 - I completely understand why you feel so strongly about this topic. I haven't been addicted to artificial sweeteners (unfortunately I am addicted to the original stuff) but my boyfriend's niece is only 4 and her parents give her diet soda ALL THE TIME. I can only imagine how addicted she is going to be! (Comment this)

6 - A lot of consumers out there think that just becuase its not "real" sugar than it was designed to be better or our bodies. It is so frustrating how this prodcuts are marketed to make a healthy impression in people's minds. You should talk about this spin factor and how easily people are tricked. I am glad that you are using your credibility as a past sweetner user- this helps win people over when you talk about the bad effects this has had on your life. -Meryl G (Comment this)
